Palmer Productions

Bespoke business consultancy for fashion labels from start-ups to established brands

What we do

A successful fashion brand requires two key elements: exceptional design talent and business know-how.  Palmer Productions offers bespoke business consultancy packages for fashion houses, with expert advice encompassing all the key elements required to build and develop a successful fashion label. We consult with businesses of all sizes.

Our aim is to be a flexible partner for luxury fashion designers. Should you have the design acumen but don’t know where to begin, or have an already established and recognised brand but need help to grow, we can help.

At Palmer Productions we believe in the people and products we support. While we offer standard packages in a number of areas, we are aware that much like your products, each designer has different needs. This is why all of our packages are tailored specifically to your brand.

Testimonials

Recruiting the right team is one of the most important parts of running a successful business and when I was needing a new Production Manager, Susie was invaluable in providing me with much needed support.

Maria Grachvogel, Maria Grachvogel

Susie was recommended to me by a close friend and colleague in the industry. On meeting her in person I was struck by her tenacity and consummate professionalism. We have since worked on various projects where Susie has exceeded expectations in terms of her strategic planning, production sourcing and attention to detail. As a relatively small business it was imperative that budgets be maintained and money was well spent. Palmer Productions ensured that we maximised our productivity within these boundaries. I very much look forward to working with Susie in the future.

Rachel Spencer, Founder, Heirloom Couture

Susie has been invaluable in growing our business and sales. Her skills lie in having an impartial view to the business, and she helps me enormously to see a wider vista. Susie has brought industry knowledge, some new production practices and some focused solutions to our business. I cannot recommend Susie enough, she is a pleasure to work with and has an amazing skill set.

Nick Wakeman, Founder, Studio Nicholson

Working with Susie was a pleasure, she made great efforts with getting to know our company and attaining a clear picture of our culture to help ensure she selected the perfect candidates for the role. Susie oozes professionalism and made the whole recruitment process a breeze. We had a great range of potential candidates and hired the clear favourite as indicated by Susie and couldn’t be happier with the result.

Gemma Shiel, Founder, Lazy Oaf

As an established business, branching into new avenues, it has been important for us to maximise our productivity.  Susie really understood the direction of our brand and worked with us to devise strategies to focus our time and resources.  Her extensive knowledge across the industry has been an invaluable resource, introducing us to new suppliers, and helping to streamline our whole production process, from taking orders, to delivery of our finished product.  It was a pleasure to work with Susie and I look forward to working with her again in the near future.

Eva McMahon and the things that make her Swoon

We got in touch with the fabulous Eva McMahon of the style blog Glamazon to ask her for a few things that make her Swoon! Eva is a colleague and friend of Mr Palmer Productions, and we adore her blog. Galamazon is an award winning blog, focussing on chic insight into fashion and lifestyle, as seen through the eyes of Czech Eva. Check out the blog here www.glamazonblog.com and have a peek at 5 things that make Eva Swoon below.

1.Cocktails in Claridges – Claridges is one of my favourite spots in London and it is our tradition to go for few cocktails with my friends. I love the old school glamour feel of the place and of course their tasty drinks. And plus you never know who you can bump in to.

2. Nuxe body oil – Although it may sound boring this is the best body oil I have ever tried and plus it smells like holiday. A small bottle that takes you to the sunny beach every day.

3. Finding the best deals at designer sample sales – It is almost my addiction and a great way how to build up your wardrobe with designer pieces (for fraction of price). My personal favourite is Temperley. I never leave empty handed. Photo: Luca Tombolini / Indigital.tv

4.Good weekend brunch – Nothing beats a lazy weekend that starts with a delicious brunch. Whether I am with my husband, friends or family this is the best part of the week. There are many great brunch places but I love to go to Rocca in Dulwich village, French Cafe at East Dulwich, Shoreditch House, Riding House Cafe when I am meeting people more central. It is hard to pick just few as it makes me hungry just thinking about it.

5. The buzz of Fashion Week – I love that time of the year. Whether that is the moment when first model walks on the catwalk or the street style photographers are chasing their muse. The atmosphere is just wonderful and always carries me away to another world.

January in London means menswear, as London Collections: Men hits the capital. This is always a highlight of out year – working with a mixture of the best respected Menswear tailors such as Gieves and Hawkes, to the freshest talent in menswear design, such as Sean Suen.

It was a tumultuous week, with a fast paced shows in the busiest schedule this season has seen yet, and the tragic news on David Bowies passing spreading over the last day of shows.

Have a peek at our behind the scenes pictures of the LCF, Coach, Margaret Howell, Gieves and Hawkes, and Sean Suen.

We loved these gorgeous leather accessories at Coach – Dino’s, buckles, and key rings

Kally Ellis Founder of McQueens – and the things that make her Swoon

Kally Ellis is the founder of McQueens, a premier London based florists, that is so much more than a florists. In 1991, from a small florist in Shoreditch, Kally had a clear aim in mind: “I wanted to sell simple, stylish flowers, beautifully presented, to the London market. And I knew people would love it.” Since then Kally used her marketing expertise, strong sense of colour and design, and genuine passion for flowers, to establish McQueens as a premier name in both the UK and international flower market. You can find McQueens flowers at the most fantastic events and spaces around the globe: From the A-list Vanity Fair post-Oscar party in Los Angeles, to fashion shows in London. From the Tribeca film festival in New York to the capital’s most talked about five-star hotels. From weddings and restaurants to television and film, McQueens has redefined the way we think about flowers, forever.

We spoke to Kally to ask her about the things that make her Swoon…

Without doubt, these are my personal highlight of the winter season. Banish any thoughts of those gaudy poinsettias with their crepe petals. These delicate, bashful Christmas roses in pure white make my heart skip a beat every time. I have them in my garden too and they look every bit as perfect as they do in a vase, believe me.

I do adore scented candles and I must say I usually have one of my own McQueens scented candles on the go at home (peony or gardenia). But this particular candle is my all-time favourite from the world’s oldest candle making company. There’s a hint of musk and incense about it which is so heady that it is practically spiritual.

Fumoir(716x380)2The Fumoir – Claridges

I do spend a lot of my time at Claridge’s – as well as being responsible for all the flowers there, we also have a wonderful little McQueens boutique in the hotel – but at the end of the day, this is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a little glass of fizz. It’s tiny and tucked away, which makes it slightly naughty and terribly romantic, all at the same time.

CR3_The Corner Room – The Town Hall Hotel
We recently outgrew our space on Old Street so we’ve just moved to a large, newly-refurbished warehouse in Bethnal Green. This wonderful little dining room is one of my great new discoveries  – the food is fresh and innovative, it has a wonderfully serene atmosphere and the service is impeccable. It’s definitely one of Bethnal Green’s best kept secrets.

I first discovered Michelle and her amazing little boutique about a decade ago when she was based in Cross Street and I just adore the cut of her clothes. Every season I will buy one or two pieces and I know that each time I wear them they will give me untold pleasure. My husband has a conspiracy theory because each time he pops in – be it Christmas or my birthday –  Michelle instinctively knows exactly what I want.
